This month saw the passing of a truly wonderful friend and fellow entertainer, BARBARA FOULDS.

Back in the late 1950's, Bab's and I performed often together around the various traps and flaps of Melbourne , and Starred together on pioneering Television at channel 9 in a show called “OPEN HOUSE” on Sunday afternoons.

I was the Bandleader on the show, and Barbara the featured vocalist. They were heady carefree days, with all of those involved, flying proverbially by the seats of their pants in a brand new industry--- nobody knew anything, and we knew as much as them! We were both thrilled to be offered to star in the new show at the famous “SOUTHPORT HOTEL” in Southport Q. In late 1957. It was there that Barbara began her love affair with Queensland , where she married and continued her career right up to a month before her passing. We were great mates, and I could always rely on Babs to tell it like it was; and at the best and worst of times, their the kind of friends to have around. I have heaps of wonderful memories [ including the time she virtually saved my life--- see Book] and I will always miss that cheerful fun loving personality on the other end of the phone.

VALE my sweet one, Barry x
